Award Description:

The Destination & Placemaking Award celebrates organisations, partnerships and projects that make Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown a more attractive place to live, work, visit and invest.

This award recognises initiatives that improve public spaces, strengthen local identity, encourage economic activity and create welcoming, vibrant destinations. Judges are looking for projects that demonstrate collaboration, creativity and measurable positive impact on the local community.

Entries may include regeneration projects, cultural initiatives, public realm improvements, tourism development, town centre activation, safety initiatives, arts and heritage projects, environmental enhancements or collaborative placemaking programmes.

Businesses, community organisations, public bodies and partnerships are all encouraged to enter.

Eligibility to enter:

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Demonstrate measurable benefits for the local area.
  • Be able to provide supporting evidence.
  • Projects may be led by businesses, community organisations, public bodies or partnerships.

Special Considerations

Collaborative projects are encouraged.

Entries may focus on town centre activation, tourism, arts, heritage, accessibility, public realm improvements, sustainability, community safety, events or initiatives that strengthen the identity and attractiveness of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
