DLR Chamber welcomes business supports in Budget 2020 particularly those for the overall Hospitality Sector including the Vat Reduction from November 1st.
DLR Chamber in welcoming all of the key business supports in Budget 2020, has been particularly focused on the effects the overall hospitality sector has experienced this year due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Over the previous months DLR Chamber’s Board, CEO Gabby Mallon and new President Brian Kirwan, have stepped up their lobbying role to voice their concerns about business supports in general, SME issues, and in particular the overall hospitality sector.
Said Brian Kirwan, President of DLR Chamber “ hospitality and tourism plays a key role within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and we as a Chamber have been particularly concerned about the effects the Covid 19 Crisis has been having on our members in these and other sectors. We campaigned for a reduction in VAT and we particularly welcome the VAT reduction to 9% from the 1st November” as well as other funding initiatives which are key if the situation deteriorates any further”.
He continued “ We are already promoting a campaign for people within DLR to give business and to shop locally, particularly in the run-up to Christmas. The budget supports show the importance of supporting a thriving business community in Ireland. And we welcome them”.
