Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Chamber of Commerce is supporting the call from Chambers Ireland for an immediate de-escalation of the fuel protests currently disrupting transport networks and supply chains nationwide.

As the voice of business in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, we are hearing directly from our members who are experiencing delivery delays, challenges with staff commuting, and growing uncertainty around fuel availability. Continued disruption to national fuel distribution networks is placing additional pressure on businesses across the county, particularly SMEs already managing increased operating costs.

While we recognise the very real concerns surrounding fuel prices, constructive engagement remains the most effective way forward to protect businesses, safeguard jobs, and maintain local economic stability.

Colette O’Sullivan, CEO of Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Chamber of Commerce, said:

“As the voice of business in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, we are hearing first-hand the real and immediate impact these disruptions are having on our members. Businesses need certainty and continuity to operate effectively. While the concerns being raised are valid, it is critical that a solution is found through constructive dialogue to avoid further strain on our local economy and the SMEs that underpin it.”

We encourage any business in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown impacted by these disruptions to contact the Chamber, so we can continue to represent and advocate for your concerns at a national level.
