Last Tuesday the 13th of June 2023, we had the privilege of presenting the latest findings from the EDIFY EDU project to the members of the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber. This project focuses on equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) for improving the quality of management education. The project is co funded by the European Commission, with five partner countries involved: Ireland, Finland, Greece, Germany and Italy.

During the presentation, we discussed our research progress, sharing valuable insights gained from our focus groups, interviews with industry professionals, and the analysis of key competencies related to EDI. Additionally, we proudly showcased a series of video interviews featuring managers, business owners, and female entrepreneurs, highlighting best practices in implementing EDI. The videos include valuable insights from CEO and Artist Director of the Mill Theatre Dundrum – Kate Canning, Co – Proprietor of Red Torch Ginger – Eamonn Crowe, Irish founder of Cycling Without Age – Clara Clark, owner of Skinny Batch Bakery – Sharyn Hayden, and owner of Sylvia’s Childcare – Sylvia Elworthy.

The presentation sparked inspiring and thought-provoking discussion among the attendees. Committed to promoting EDI, participants posed insightful questions and shared valuable contributions that enriched the dialogue. It was a testament to our collective dedication to promoting inclusive work environments and filling the skills gap in business management education.

Currently, we are collaborating with our partner countries to finalise an international report that compiles the findings from each country involved. This comprehensive report will encapsulate the collective insights gained throughout our research journey.

In the next steps of the project we will be working on developing 40 short micro credential courses. They will serve as valuable resources for individuals seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in the realm of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Additionally, in September 2023 the EDIFY EDU project will be holding a hybrid seminar to discuss the international report findings. The seminar will be held in Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland. It will take place on September 13th at 13:30 until 15:30 (EEST). Stay tuned for registration details which will be available soon.

We express our deepest gratitude to all those who attended the presentation, your presence and engagement was appreciated. Moving forward, we eagerly anticipate sharing further updates and progress from the EDIFY EDU project, as we continue into the next stage of the project.
