The Ski Club of Ireland is based in Kilternan, Co. Dublin, where it operates the National Snowsports Centre for Ireland. The Ski Club of Ireland was founded in 1964 as a social club of skiing enthusiasts. In the mid 1970’s the Club moved to its current location in Kilternan.
The facilities here at Kilternan now ranked among the finest dry slopes in Europe, boasting a 180m main slope, a 130m intermediate slope, each served by modern Poma lifts, with two Snowflex slopes, Travellator lifts and low-level misting systems to lubricate the skiing surfaces.
People from all over Ireland come to Kilternan every year to learn or develop their skiing or snowboarding skills and enjoy the many activities at the Club throughout the season.
Over the years more than 100,000 people have been introduced to winter sports at Kilternan. Participants include families, children, students, youth groups, corporates, Ireland’s International Racers and the Special Olympics Ski Team.
At Kilternan, we will introduce you to both skiing and snowboarding. If you are an individual and want to try skiing or snowboarding for the first time, you simply book into a group beginner lesson and our team will look after the rest by providing you with skis, poles and boots. Then your instructor will take you and other beginners to the slope where it all begins, a whole new experience skiing or snowboarding.
DLR Chamber wish the team continued success and we look forward to supporting Ski Club of Ireland.
